Deedz Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Guests: an anonymous identifier stored in a cookie on your phone, your requests (song, offer, note, any file you attach), the email address you choose to give (stored with the request to send your receipt and the link to pay when the DJ says yes, and remembered on your phone for your next request), and your saved songs. Links we email you open that request’s page for 7 days. If you link Apple Music, your phone looks through your playlists to find Favourite Songs and sends us only the catalogue IDs of your Favourite Songs, recently played songs and library songs (up to 60 in total) and your Apple Music storefront country — never your Apple account details or playlist names, and the Apple Music sign-in token stays on your phone.
• Payments: Ziina processes your card. We receive the payment status and amount, never your card number.
• DJs: name, email, password (stored hashed), photo, bio and Instagram handle.
• Venues: business and contact details, login email, payout bank details and the documents provided at onboarding.
• When a DJ or venue accepts our terms, we record the terms version, the time and the IP address as proof of acceptance.
• Cookies: a guest cookie on your phone and sign-in cookies for DJs, venues and our admin. We use no advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
• Everyone: IP address and basic technical logs, used for security and to stop abuse.

Why we use it

To run the service (show requests to the DJ, take payments, send receipts, pay venues), to keep it secure and prevent fraud, to meet legal and accounting obligations, and to answer your questions. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

The venue and DJ see the requests made at their venue (song, offer, note and any audio file you attach) — never your payment details or email. Other guests at the venue see tonight’s queue — song titles, and the amounts paid for accepted songs — but never who sent them. We use trusted processors to run Deedz: Ziina (payments), Vercel (hosting, and storage of attached audio files), Supabase (database, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany), Resend (email) and Apple (song search, previews and optional Apple Music linking). Some of them process data outside the UAE under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Guest audio files: deleted within 36 hours. Request and payment records: as long as needed for accounting and legal purposes (normally up to 5 years). Account data: until you ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@deedz.ae. DJs can delete their own account from their profile page. Guests can also clear their Deedz cookie at any time, which disconnects their past requests from their phone.
